Swimming in Cherries

Even though it doesn’t feel like summer here in the UK yet, it’s the time of year to brave the shops in search of a swimsuit. No matter what your body is like, swimsuit shopping is generally a depressing experience but I may have found one that doesn’t induce you to tears in the strip-lit changing rooms.

I don’t normally like skirted swimsuits but the Tummy Control Cherry Print Skirt Swimsuit ticks quite a few boxes…

Tummy Control Cherry Print Skirt Swimsuit - Marks & Spencer

Tummy control. Tick.

Gorgeous print. Tick.

Bum coverage. Tick.

In my opinion the only thing that’s missing is a little bust support. It’s £39.50 from good old M&S.

You might even get away with not waxing your bikini line… Double tick.

Desirable Drapery

The new range of fabrics by Andrew Martin at Rockett St George has me hankering. They’re really unusual and I think would like really striking on a bed head, ottoman or cushions.

I love playing cards but as it’s one of the few games I can win at, it’s difficult to stop me once I’ve started. This croupier fabric would cheer me up when no-one will play cards with me.

Andrew Martin Croupier Fabric - Rockett St George

This vintage style comic book fabric is all about what young ladies want to be when they grow up, I think I wanted to be at least four of them in my younger days…

Andrew Martin I Want To Be 'Vintage Comic' Fabric - Rockett St George

The Naughty Nurse vintage style comic book fabric is probably not one for your kid’s room, from the photos I can’t make out the text but the design is great, if a little raunchy.

All three fabrics are 133cm wide and sold in 1 metre lengths at £59.50 per metre.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Wild Wallpaper

Last week I showed you Lisa Bliss’s dog scarves, she also has an Etsy shop with beautiful cat scarves but Lisa doesn’t just do scarves. She does wallpaper too featuring wild animals.

The amazing The Bear wallpaper towers in at a massive 6ft tall and originally took three months to draw. For the standard size he’s £95 but he can be made to fit your wall if you ask nicely.

Bear Wallpaper by Lisa Bliss - Graduate Collection

I would love this work of art in our house. He would be great on a landing or on a wall around a corner to give your guests a bit of a fright.

The hand drawn faces on this stag head wallpaper are so full of character. It’s £125 per roll, also available with a plum background, in a smaller repeat design, as a cushion in plum or teal or in mugs of various colours.

Lisa also has a fox head design on wallpaper, cushions and scarves. They are all available from Graduate Collection.

With my stampeding cow wallpaper and beastly handles and rabbit obsession my house could resemble a wildlife park pretty soon. What animal decor do you hanker after?

My Skinny Love

I have a new skinny love.

Not skinny jeans, they’re pretty unflattering on me and inspire people to exclaim “Isn’t your bum getting fat!”. Not skinny lattes, the caffeine in them has me bouncing off the walls. But THESE skinny heels…

REIM Super Skinny Sandals - TopshopI love the bright clashing colours that will go with so many outfits.

I love the strappiness of them and as they’re 100% leather there should be a good amount of give in them so they won’t cut in to your toes.

I love the £45 price tag.

I love the super skinny heels on them. Let’s look at the back…

REIM Super Skinny Sandals - TopshopWell done Topshop!

I don’t love that I’ll have to wait for the rain to stop so I can wear them though. I trash shoes but I’d try my best not to trash these so my skinny love could last the year.

Are you a skinny or chunky heel type of girl?
